My Childhood -Sreelakshmi Vasudevan

My Childhood
Lying in my bed,
I would think of my childhood,
When I once laughed and played,
With no responsibilities to care about,
The days when I rushed home after school,
To play with my pals till the dusk,
The evenings when I roamed in my little cycle,
Through the narrow streets up my home,
The little pain and frustration I bore with,
When my mom tugged my ears and beat me,
While making me study my lessons,
Now these are just memories that are knotted
Close to my heart,
So that these sweet memories can be treasured
Within me till I’m burned to ashes
